Statement: My interest is placing the viewer into that transitory place in the mind where emotions, physical sensations, and imaginations are triggered. For that to happen, I have to surprise myself. I never plan an artwork. Instead, I discover it. Serendipity is my "modus operandi,” and to achieve it, I play, experiment, take chances, and make sure my work is not derivative.

Process: My canvas is digital. My "paintbox" is the naturally occurring patterns we see in nature. Numerous patterns from nature have been transformed into digital models called fractals. Nature likes to recycle designs. Being digital allows me to manipulate nature's creations and create new surprising possibilities. I play with fractal patterns. I twist, bend, and morph them until a unique accidental shape emerges from the "digital clay." When satisfied with the newly invented forms, I add color and tone and finally collage other fractal variations into a composition that reflects my surprise and serendipity. All my images are imagined. None are referenced, copied, or produced by an AI.
